Spring has sprung! We are so happy to be celebrating Spring with you and your family and have many fun events in store. Next week is Week of the Young Child, and shortly thereafter is Easter and Earth Day! Please read on to find out more about all the fun events in store this month!

IMPORTANT NEWS AND REMINDERS
CPR & 1ST Aide at Xplor – Thursday April 4th – 6:45pm-8:45pm
As a reminder, Hope CPR hosts a First Aide and CPR class for the community at Xplor every month. If you would like to join the CPR class this month, just let us know and we will have them add your name to the list. The cost is $20.
Week of the Young Child – April 8th-12th
We will be hosting school-wide activities to promote different themes each day: Monday – Music Monday, Tuesday – Tasty Tuesday, Wednesday – Work Together Wednesday, Thursday – Artsy Thursday, Friday – Family Friday. This year, in honor of all of our wonderful families and traditions, we invite parents to submit a family recipe for our Xplor Family Recipe Book. We hope to compile all recipes in a book to share. If you can share the story/meaning behind the recipe, even better! We love learning more about all of our wonderful families!
Parents’ Night Out, Friday, April 12th from 6:30pm-10:30pm
If you would like to enjoy an evening kid-free, please sign up for our next Parents’ Night Out! The cost is $30 for the first child in each family and $15 for each additional child in the family. We will have fun and games, food, and a movie night while you enjoy some time to yourselves. Please be sure to sign up for Parents’ Night Out no later than Wednesday, April 10th, if you would like your child(ren) to attend.
Spring and Easter Celebrations – Friday, April 19th – Please Bring Filled Eggs and Sign Up for the Party List
We have lots of fun in store on the 19th! Each classroom will have an Easter Egg Hunt at their morning playground time. Please see your child’s classroom party sign up sheet for Easter Egg Hunt times and party times for that classroom. Egg hunts will take place in the morning during your child’s assigned playground time. Classroom celebrations will take place during your child’s snack time. Parents are welcome to attend both.
Earth Day Ladybug Release – Monday, April 22nd at 3pm-4pm
As part of a new tradition, we will be hosting our 3rd annual ladybug release on Monday, April 22nd! Classrooms will start their gardens in their allotted garden beds this April and release live ladybugs and worms to help sustain the garden. Don’t forget to wear red, white, and black! Of course, we encourage parents to attend this fun event!
New Faces
Over the several weeks we have had several new faces join our team! Please join us in welcoming our new teachers!
Ms. Margaret – Ms. Margaret joined our team as an afternoon assistant teacher. Ms. Margaret comes from a nursing background but is currently working on her degree in Psychology. She has been a pediatric nurse in the past and she is very excited to work with children in an educational setting! Although you may see her in any classroom, she is primarily assisting in Pre-K B and Intermediate B classrooms.
Ms. Hiba – Ms. Hiba joined us recently as a floater in many classrooms. You will primarily see her in Toddler A and Pre-K B, however, she may assist in other classrooms, as well! We have enjoyed getting so know her, as well as her two children! Ms. Hiba has a background in Mathematics, is extremely artistic, and has worked in previously in public Pre-K programs. She is excited to be a part of all of the classrooms at Xplor!
Ms. Lindsye – Ms. Lindsye joined Mr. Jonathan in Pre-KA as a Co-Lead Teacher! We are excited for her to bring her calm and focused nature to the Pre-K classroom. Prior to joining our team, she was a parent of a student in our Infant program! Ms. Lindsye has experience working as a Behavior Analyst for children with Austism, teaching Pre-K students, as well as After School students!
Ms. Catelyn – Ms. Catelyn is a parent of one of our Beginner students that recently joined our team. Ms. Catelyn is a substitute/floating teacher that will be working primarily with our Infant and Toddler classrooms. Although she is new to Xplor of Anderson Mill, she has previous experience teaching with Xplor. She also has taught in other Early Childhood settings.
